90 Day Financial Freedom Challenge

Over the next 90 days I plan to create a series of passive/leveraged income streams that will allow me to have a secure stable income sufficient to provide for all my needs.

I will be keeping you up to date with the progress of this challenge on this blog and on Facebook at http://facebook.com/chilltime. Also you can get an ongoing update of my progress from my tweets at http://twitter.com/entrepreneur_me

Join me on this journey to financial freedom and discover whether the route to financial freedom is as easy as it seems.

In the next video I will reveal the 6 streams of income that I will be using to create this freedom and choosing the first one to go with.

Then every few days I will be implementing one strategy after another to find the ones that create a stable predictable income – the other ones I will drop.

Each strategy I try will be based on known costs, known rewards and therefore I hope most of them to be a secure bet.

You can watch what I do or follow along with me on this journey to financial freedom.

Enjoy the ride.

Why take a new path?

For hundreds of years we have been taught to seek a good job, work hard and retire at age 65 with a pension. The big problem is that the pension we have long been expecting is likely to be non-existent or insignificant compared to our needs. When 65 was set as the retirement age, less than 50% of people that reached adulthood actually reach aged 65, but now with life expectancy growing fast and the number of children being born declining the cost of supporting people in their old age is getting too expensive and the amount saved for the pensions painfully insignificant compared to the real costs involved.

Throughout our lives we are assured that we will retire to a peaceful life and that once we reach age 65 we can relax and enjoy the rest of our years without fear or struggle. You only need to read the newspaper and watch the TV to know that this is not the way it will be. In the UK the Public Sector Pension Deficit is larger than the entire government debt, which itself is at the highest level in history. The picture in the US is somewhat different, but the fact is that 95% of people reach age 65 either dead or dead broke.
Unlike third world countries we do not have a culture of caring for our parents and grandparents in the way they do, so our children expect us to be able to support ourselves throughout the entirety of our lives. And that is in fact what we all want, isn’t it? To be self sufficient and to have a standard of living that allows us to go where we want and do what we want?

But if we follow what we have always been told the fact is most people will end their days flat broke and dependent on others. We are never taught about alternatives.

In this blog I am, through the knowledge of experts in various fields, seek another way to make a living that not only allows me to have more free time, but also allows me to build on my wealth and increase my prosperity even while I am sleeping. And in doing so I hope to show you what works, what doesn’t and what you can follow if you choose.

The Story Begins

Over the last few years I have grown to understand the importance of designing your lifestyle instead of aiming for goals.

For many years I was highly successful in anyone’s definition, but in reality I was chasing the wrong things. Instead of seeking to be where I wanted to be, doing what I wanted to do and have all that I desired to have, I was seeking the thinks and the trappings of success, without ever realising that I was creating a trap for myself.

I realised that I had become a prisoner in my own life – that the things I wanted were not to be found in the showrooms of car dealers, or the windows of estate agents, but in the people I spend my time with, the places I am able to go and the hours I spend doing the things I desire to do.

What I desire is Money – Time – Freedom.

The money to live as I choose to live, the time to do the things I want to do and be with the people I want to be with and the freedom to be anywhere I choose to be and live the life I want to live.

This kind of freedom is not to be found in the things we were taught as children, or the example of our society, because it is clear that most of the people in our society are in slavery.

“None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.”
– Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Realising that I was not a free man I determined to learn the methods of the New Rich, those people that spend the vase majority of their waking time in the pursuit of the things that make them happy, building experiences that make a life worth living.

I have decided that – TODAY – I am going to start the process of building my life of freedom. This Blog is here to ensure that I not only record my progress but also get feedback along the way. So please feel free to leave me a comment.
